Formula One Class

For Tyco/Mattel 440x2 and Tomy Turbo chassis running with open-wheel hard bodies.

Some other chassis - Micro-Scalextric (with braids), Life-Like M, Rokar X, Tomy Mega-G and Tomy Super-G+ - can be run only with permission from race control and must use stock rubber tyres to limit performance.

Tomy Mega-G set up for EAHORC F1 class may be raced with Wizzard WS13B front end, but must have stock rubber rear tyres.

Rules:

No part of the car can exceed 34mm in width and 17mm from centreline to sides.

Motors must be run with unmodified stock armature (stock = original part or identical replacement part). ‘Can’ motors must be original stock items and must not be altered in any way.

Pickup springs, shoes*, busses, brush holders, brush springs and brushes** must be original stock items only, they may be reshaped but no material may be added or removed. (*Tyco cars may use Wizzard E13 Tyco pickup ski shoes. **Tyco cars may use Wizzard E06 copper brushes)

Guide pin must be original item, no material may be added. Wear must be by natural means only.

Pinion gear must be stock item, no material may be removed or added. Gluing to motor shaft not permitted.

Rear axle, crown gear and spacer must be stock item, no material may be added or removed, no additional spacers permitted.

Front axle must be original stock items, no material may be added or removed. No spacers permitted. Tomy Mega-G set up for EAHORC F1 class may use Wizzard WS13B front end.

Tyres must be single compound (rubber, silicone or urethane) and black in colour. Chassis other than Tyco 440x2 and Tomy Turbo must be run with stock rubber tyres. Tyres may be re-profiled. O-rings may not be used as front tyres. Tomy Mega-G set up for EAHORC F1 class may use Wizzard WS13B front end.

You may use any type of wheels, no sharp edges permitted.

Traction magnet(s) must be original stock item(s), in original position and no material may be added or removed.

Motor magnets must be stock items, no material may be added or removed.

No part of the chassis may be cut, sanded, drilled or otherwise interfered with. All wear must be by natural means only, no components may be glued in place.

Bodies must be open-wheeled and constructed entirely of molded plastics or cast resin. Lexan bodies are not permitted. Bodies must not be glued directly to the chassis or any of its components.

Bodies may be ballasted, but ballast must be glued firmly in place.

Bodies may run with front wings removed. Front wings may be re-enforced.

Rear wings must be intact at the start of each pair of heats and finals. Breakages must be repaired between each pair of heats and before finals.
